Most people overcomplicate their skincare routine. You do not need ten products. You need three steps done consistently, in the right order, with products that actually work for your skin type.
Step 1: Cleanse
Use a gentle cleanser morning and night. The goal is to remove dirt, oil, and makeup without stripping your moisture barrier. If your skin feels tight after cleansing, your cleanser is too harsh. Switch to something gentler — your skin is not supposed to feel dry after washing.
Step 2: Treat
This is where you address your specific concerns — acne, dark spots, fine lines, or texture. Serums and treatments go on clean skin before moisturizer so the active ingredients can penetrate. Less is more: one or two targeted actives beat five overlapping ones.
Step 3: Protect
Moisturizer locks in hydration and supports your skin barrier. SPF goes on last every single morning, even on cloudy days, even in winter. Sunscreen is the single most effective anti-aging product you can use. No serum, no treatment, no facial will outperform consistent sun protection.
The Rule That Ties It Together
Apply products from thinnest to thickest. Watery serums first, then creams, then SPF. This ensures each layer absorbs properly instead of sitting on top of the one before it.
